Igwababa.com - an independent e-publisher of forgotten classics and other neglected authors.

Our business model
The business of Igwababa is to provide people with affordable access to books of interest that they did not know existed and, once aware of them, are unable to obtain or afford a copy.
In terms of the above the following applies:
1. Service provided (Output)
Books in electronic format that are:
- of interest to a specific market
- not widely known today
- considered of great merit in their day
- out of print and not likely to be reprinted
- not easily obtainable in second hand bookstores or on the Internet
- when obtainable, copies retail at about R300 or foreign equivalent
- reasonably priced
2. Market
Each book defines its market. Igwababa will focus on finding an appropriate book and then identify the market for that book. It will not identify a market and then attempt to find a book to satisfy that market.
3. Product (Input)
A copy of the book. Permission from the content copyright holders, if any, giving Igwababa the right to sell and deliver the book to customers via the Internet or on CD for its own benefit. If the book is in the public domain, proof of that fact.
4. General
The essence of Igwababa operations is simplicity. We will not re-invent the wheel by following the traditional and costly method of physically printing and distributing books via established distribution channels. We will use electronic media to introduce books of proven merit to a new readership by making them available in as simple and cost effective way as possible. While making a profit ourselves we will also provide the copyright holders, if any, with what, in many cases, will be windfall revenue arising out of the activation of a dormant asset. In this way we will make copyright holders want to do business with us.
In addition we will publish works by new (or existing) authors who wish to get their books to market in the quickest and most cost effective way. Selection of books for publication is entirely at the discretion of Igwababa. This is not a solicitation for submissions. Igwababa.com will advise on this website when it is accepting submissions of manuscripts, without in any way implying that any manuscript received will be published.
